|John's Patio Fountain |
John from Texas had this old fountain in his backyard that just needed some TLC. John contacted us first to get a low voltage pump that would operate his fountain. We suggested our Fountain Pro WA-170 low Voltage pump. But this was just a start.
John didn't want to have this beautiful fountain running with the exterior needing a facelift. As John said, it was a diamond in the ruff. John then took on the challenge to bring his fountain back to life. All we could do from here in Florida is to offer him some guidance and advice on painting his fountain.
The fountain first needed a good old fashion cleaning with a pressure washer. This removed all the dirt and loose paint that was on the fountain. Then with the fountain completely dry John painted it with the first coat of a base concrete paint that has epoxy in it. This was purchased from Home Depot.
After the fountain was dry and the weather just right John then went back over the fountain with a slightly darker color to accent and highlight the fountain giving it an antique looking effect.
Finally finished and the fountain running John still wasn't completely happy and I don't blame him. John went that one step further and lighted the little cherubs in the middle tier. This really brings his fountain to life and now not only sounds beautiful, looks so nice in the evening where he and his wife enjoy it on their patio.
Thank you John for sharing your story and photos for others to see and learn from.. Fountain Builder
